A hot new leisure line
with a unique concept is launching its spring/summer 2008 collection.
Thirstywear, which launched in summer 2007, is a line of funky hoodies,
dresses, shorts, pants and skirts that are made from pre-shrunk, 100 per
cent cotton terry towels and are perfect for the cottage, pool, camping
or weekend wear. It’s a revolutionary fashion concept that combines
style and comfort for everyone from toddlers to teenagers to adults.
The brainchild behind this exciting fashion concept is vintage clothing
collector and mother of two, Lisa Eisen. After watching her children
shiver after getting out of the lake up at her cottage, she decided it
was time to throw discomfort overboard. "Instead of wrapping them in
towels that didn’t completely warm them up, why not let them wear their
towels?" Knowing how important it is to look cool, Eisen created
adorable pieces that can be worn together, or as separates that dry in
minutes.
From plain-chic to the latest bohemian trends, Thirstywear comes in a
variety of solid colours, patterns and styles ready to match any bathing
suit or personality. Cleverly named after Canadian hot spots, this
season’s teen/adult collection includes a total of seven pieces for both
guys and gals including the Rocky Mountain Hoody, Salt Spring Low Slung
Skirt, Miss Muskoka Dress, Killarney Killer Shorts, Wreck Beach Yoga
Pants, Tofino Cargo Pants (unisex) and the Algonquin Cargo Shorts
(unisex).
The Miniature line, for kids aged three and up, also has the same seven
pieces available. Each interchangeable piece in both lines is
embellished with an embroidered vintage-style patch.
Thirsty Wear is an eco-friendly solution to the seemingly endless pile
of dirty towels. Each time you come out of the water, simply slip on a
Thirstywear outfit and you’re ready to hop into the car, onto the boat
or inside for lunch saving water and energy of washing towels.
"After its first highly successful season, Thirstywear has developed a
loyal following, capturing the attention of style-conscious customers
from all walks of life, ages, and fitness levels," according to
Trendhunter.com. The line is perfect for those who want to soak up style
and make what they wear truly their own.
The collection is manufactured and distributed by World Famous Sales.
Each piece is affordably priced from $19.99 to $49.99 and is available
at 24 stores in Ontario and will be in Simon's and Schreter's in Quebec
and stores across B.C. in spring/summer 2008. All pieces are also
available online at www.thirstywear.ca. |

PRESS RELEASE - January 17,
2008
Soak up the sun, surf and style in…THIRSTYWEAR
Announcing the launch of Canada’s hippest leisure wear spring/summer ‘08
collection!
Canadians love to soak up the sunshine and freedom we call summer. But
with each jump in the pool or splash in the lake comes the “drip dry”
dilemma. How to keep dry and warm but look cool at the same time?
The dilemma is solved.
A revolutionary fashion concept combining style and comfort, ThirstyWear
is taking Canada’s leisure culture by storm. This complete line of
funkadelic hoodies, pants, shorts, hot pants, skirts, and dresses is
made from actual beach towel fabric!
ThirstyWear has just been selected as one of this year’s hottest new
fashion trends by Trendhunter.com . And after it’s highly successful
first season, this innovative collection has already developed a loyal
following, capturing the attention of style-conscious customers from all
walks of life, ages, and fitness levels.
ThirstyWear’s creator is cottager and mother of two Lisa Eisen. After
noticing how her boys would shiver uncomfortably as they sat in their
soggy bathing suits after a wicked wakeboard run, she decided it was
time to throw discomfort overboard.
“Why not let them wear towels?” she thought. And so, at the beach,
ThirstyWear was born.
Easy to wash and a pleasure
to wear, ThirstyWear embodies true bohemian spirit, and is available in
a wide variety of sizes, colours and designs. Choose from funky prints
or solids. Vintage-inspired embroidered patches make each piece a “must
have”.
THIRSTYWEAR is for those who want to soak up style…and make whatever
they wear truly their own! Available at many fine stores throughout
cottage country and the G.T.A.
